VOLUME 8 AND VOLUME 2 ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Posted by: Andy Smith – Date: Wednesday, December 7, 2016

Hello Poster to Poster collectors,

P2P_Vol_8_cover_lo_res

I’m delighted to announce that Volume 8: Worldwide Destinations and Volume 2: Yorkshire & the North East of the definitive Poster to Poster series are now available to purchase. These volumes of British railway posters showcase some of the greatest collections of railway posters to be found anywhere in the world .

Volume 8 uses our National Collection of posters to take a journey around some wonderful continental destinations such as France, Germany and Italy, as well as Ireland and North America, which both the British and foreign railway companies advertised, before examining general British poster policy and the services our railways offered, covering hotels, ferry, air and freight services and holiday guides.

Volume 2 uses our National Collection of posters to take a journey around Northumberland, Durham and Yorkshire using many images unique to this series. The result is a stunning artistic guide to both the ‘birthplace of railways’ and its railway poster heritage.  With a foreword by the BBC’s Paul Atterbury, it is a wonderful nostalgic journey.

To guarantee yourself a copy of these stunning books you can purchase Volume 2 for £35 (plus £5.90 postage) and Volume 8 for £35 (plus £5.90 postage) (£81.80 in total) using PayPal via the website at: www.postertoposter.co.uk

There is a limited print run of both so make sure you reserve your copies now.  http://postertoposter.co.uk/series/Please note that other volumes in the series are also available.

Volume 8 – steady progress!

Volume 8 is progressing nicely!  Now over 75% complete it will eventually contain around 400 poster images from worldwide destinations.  Two sample pages are shown below, one from the France/Germany chapter, and one from the worldwide travel chapter.   Half the posters are of UK origin, advertising overseas destinations and half are foreign posters advertising their home markets.  This enables UK and overseas posters to be compared.

The above two volumes of books are now out of print, HOWEVER we do have some limited editions of these two fine volumes available as the first 100 books off the press were individually numbered.  Please contact us direct if you are interested.  Given the ongoing popularity of Volume 2 (Yorkshire) and the fact that this is selling at 4 or 5 times the cover price on other internet sites, these two new books that have just gone out of print will soon be attracting similar prices.
